On 20th June 2020, The UK’s COVID-19 alert level was downgraded from 4 to 3. Under Level 3, the virus is considered to be “in general circulation” and there can now be a “gradual relaxation of restrictions”.

The Chief Medical Officers for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland reviewed the evidence and agreed this recommendation. They noted that progress had been made against the virus, but that the public would need to continue to follow health guidelines carefully to ensure progress continues.

Universities will reopen only when it was determine whether it is safe and viable to do so guided by advice from government and public health authorities and in consultation with our university partners.
